Confidence & Motivation

What's Slowing
you Down?
What might be your reasons for lacking the confidence and skill to communicate joyfully in the English language?
-
Believing that language learning is only for naturally gifted individuals.
-
Thinking that you don't have the required knowledge or skills to communicate well in English.
-
Focusing on high standards and expecting perfection, rather than embracing the learning process.
-
Having a limited perception of your own fluency and not recognizing your progress.
-
Assuming that you are not a confident person and that confidence is an innate trait.
-
Viewing English as a foreign or unknown subject that exists outside of your comfort zone.
-
Being influenced by competitive environments where only being the "winner" is valued.
-
A lack of practice and curiosity. (very common)
-
Not knowing exactly what steps you need to take in order to "grow" confidence (most common reason)

Do you lack motivation?

Consider these two questions:
1. On a scale of 1 - 10, how important is it to you to become fluent in the English language?
2. On a scale of 1 - 10 how much are you willing to give to become fluent?

If your answer to question 2 gave you a lower score than in question 1, it may be a cause of reduced motivation, lack of purpose, and clarity.
Motivation often occurs when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.
Similar to that of the inner working parts of a computer, and in order to develop, our brains need to be continually updated with the right information and instructions on how to apply that information. If we lack confidence, then we need to 'Install' the right software. Motivation, among other skills, is no different, and yes, motivation is generally speaking powered by emotions, but I do dare say that it is a skill that can be developed. It's an interesting analogy, I know, but understanding and applying the wisdom behind this concept should help you reduce any unnecessary stress, confusion, and helplessness that you might be experiencing. The Break Your Bad Cycle "A New Beginning" course will provide you with the mental clarity to rekindle your lost motivation!
